Founded in 2004, and led by Artistic Director and Choreographer Jenni Wren, Slanjayvah Danza, is a contemporary dance theatre company.

The core aim is "to produce thought provoking professional dance theatre works and digital media for both film and live stage productions which are accessible, entertaining and informative and which promote validation of individuality, often with particular reference to marginalised groups."

The choreographies and direction of Jenni Wren are what drive Slanjayvah Danza to create unique and innovative productions covering a multitude of social themes, that tour nationally and internationally. Inspirationally, Wren fuses a variety of dance styles, and calls on a diversity of alternative artistic practices, that help convey narratives audiences can relate to.

In collaboration with highly skilled multi-disciplinary artists, SD contemporary dance productions are complimented through crossing art forms with music, theatre, traditional dance forms, storytelling, poetry, design and film.

Slanjayvah Danza is project funded by Arts Council England and further regularly supported by Yorkshire Dance, Seven Arts, private funders and businesses, trusts and foundations.

The company firmly believes that dance can create positive change in people and the world through education and participation and is therefore committed to professional development programmes, skill sharing and providing tailor-made educational workshops (led exclusively by the highly qualified company performers).
