"BLIND PASSION" - Live Cut, has overwhelmed its audiences accross the UK since the premier at SEVEN Artspace, Leeds on 7 July 2009, receiving outstanding applause and review throughout its summer tour and gained critical acclaim.

Based on the dancers own passions of body mechanics and the body as work of art in itself, communication and the love of contact work, ‘Blind Passion' - Live Cut evolved into an explosion of seductive delights.

"Explosive and memorable" - Hetty Blades

"Jenni Wren is truly a master of contact work" - Laura Cappelle

"Blind Passion choreographically allows for muscle tensing suspense for the audience; do not pass up the opportunity to see this work" - Laura Bridges.

"Blind passion - Live Cut" is a fusion of Contemporary Dance, Tango and Contact.  Part One of a Trilogy that describes passion (see the whats cooking page).  This work demonstrates the beautiful side of the definition of "Passion".  "Passion cannot be described, only experienced" - Jenni Wren.

With the use of blindfolds, the dancers show great trust and honesty towards each other to tell their tale. Through intricate contact work sprinkled with Tango influences, the dancers and choreography move smoothly, each section subtly becoming more revealing and dynamic, challenging the audience with intrigue and question.

‘Blind Passion- Raw Cut' was a dance for film, completed in September 2008.  The "Raw Cut" has been screened successfully in the Yorkshire area at SEVEN, Yorkshire Dance, Fabric, Hatch at Bradford Playhouse, DANCEFILM Scotland 09 and at the Hyde Park Picture House as part of Leeds Erotica festival.  You can now watch it for yourself on our own video snippets page, as a preview to the Live Work.   Phase 2 involved a research and development period undertaken in Buenos Aires where we searched for the true passion behind the Argentine Tango.  This journey greatly informed the completion of the Live work, in a variety of ways providing further knowledge, tools and concepts to explore and work with.  Phase 3 took us back into the studios injecting the influences of phase 1 and 2 to develop new concepts and movement into the production of a duet for the stage.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported the project to date and acknowledge the Dancers and our Teachers (Cecilia Gonzalez and Gustavo Diaz) of the Carlos Copello School Argentina, the amazing editing talents of Little Northern Light, the newly found partnership of Seven Art Space and everyone in between.  This was an amazing yet unpredictable journey, surprises around every corner and eccentricities at every bend.
