Based on the dancers’ own passions of body mechanics and their love of contact work, Blind Passion speaks of the body as work of art in itself and is yet another deep dive into the human psyche which reflects Wren’s ongoing commitment to explore communication, in all its forms.
In both its live and digital iterations (Live Cut and Raw Cut respectively), Blind Passion is an explosion of physicality and seductive delight. The dancers and choreography move smoothly, becoming more revealing and dynamic as they go, challenging the audience with intrigue and question.
Blind Passion, was produced by Jen Wren & Slanjayvah Danza in collaboration with Little Northern Light and Seven Arts Centre.
“Explosive and memorable work.”

Touring and Accolades
Audiences first encountered Blind Passion on screen. It was actually premiered as a short ‘dance for camera’ project in 2008 under the title Blind Passion - Raw Cut and was screened in the UK and at international film festivals. A year later, Blind Passion - live Cut was brought to the stage. After a premiere at Seven Arts (Leeds) it was presented around the UK to critical acclaim and toured until 2011.
“Jenni Wren and Slanjayvah Danza have made something really exciting, amazingly executed and with sophisticated interplay.”
