Lunar-tic explores induced experiences of what some have described as "craziness" and portrays the prisons and freedoms of cyclical transitions and revolving states beyond our control.

No stranger to taboo subjects, in this solo performance, Wren brushes up against themes of oppression through a historical lens, which subtly but powerfully confronts the centuries-old misogyny and attempts to control women by branding them as witches or suggesting they suffer from the kind of madness that was thought to be influenced by the moon.

Our partners and stakeholders for Lunar-tic, to whom we are forever grateful, were: Oppenheim John Downs Trust, Seven Arts Centre and

““Clearly embodied those times when you go a bit mad… I cannot think of any other piece of art I’ve seen that addresses this issue so well!”

Lindsey Clarke Editor, Londonist.

Touring and Accolades

Lunar-tic premiered at the Pleasance Theatre, London, as part of Cloud Dance. It was also performed at venues in Leeds, and from only a few performances, it achieved critical success. Lynda Clough, Head of Dance, Dame Allan shared that the “commitment to the movement [was] admirable, like a young Martha Graham” whilst Nadine Senior (MBE) referred to Wren and the work as “Truly a class act”.
