Recoil 36 was commissioned by Newcastle College for the dancers’ end-of-year showcase, which marked the end of the students’ 2nd year of training.
The premise of the work was a physical investigation of spiral and rebound, which took the project in many exciting directions and allowed Wren to challenge and celebrate the skills of the young dancers
The final piece (inclusive of some sock swapping) was credited as a culmination of the combined creative energies of Jen Wren and the excitable, fun-loving cast: Jade Armstrong, Charlotte Bentley, Victoria Bolton, Tamsin Cherry, Harriet Cowen-Hutton, Channi Davis, Stephanie Ellenor, Aimee Green, Eve Gow, Shauni Mankin, Jessica McGeorge, Katy Skelton, Yuvel Soria Vargus, Abby Wotherspoon.
