In 2015 Slanjayvah Danza’s artistic director, Jenni Wren, was contacted by the American band Camera2 and soon later flown out to New York to work as the creative director on their music video Angel.
Andy Chase, founder of the band, had seen clips of Slanjayvah Danza’s production ‘Crazy Joanna’ and was intrigued by the slow-motion footage that Wren had created with Aurora Fearnley (Little Northern Light). And so, the band’s producer, Josh Stoddard, reached out to Jen and asked her to work with Andy and the band on the creation of the music video for one of their new songs, ‘Angel’. The song's lyrics highlight the complex interplay of attraction and danger within a relationship, which resonates strongly with themes that Wren has previously explored in her own work.
In Memory of Josh Stoddard
Throughout the production, Jen Wren had the privilege of collaborating with the deeply talented producer and musician Josh Stoddard. His generosity, sensitivity, and musical insight shaped the work in lasting ways. Josh is fondly remembered, and his creative spirit continues to resonate through the work and those who knew him.
We share the video here in Josh’s memory. It was released by the band in December 2018 and also featured on their live tour, with the video played during performances of the track ‘Angel’.
